About Us

As a young boy I always wanted to play the guitar. So I started taking lessons when I was 12, but never followed it through. Now, in my fifties I decided to take it up again and started taking lessons. As I started to work on playing I found it very difficult. One of the most frustrating things was that as I would practice in a seated position it always seemed like the guitar wanted to slide off my leg especially when I got into a rhythm. This became very frustrating for me and started to make practicing a chore. So I start to look for a solution and found very little, if anything that was available. I started looking at blogs and asking the question what to do to keep my guitar from slipping.  The most common answers where to use shelf paper or a towel. But still there was no simple product on the market you could purchase. Hence, I came up with what I now call "My Guitar Mate®".  A non-slip pad with a nicely finished edge that you place on your thigh when in a seated position. The product worked great and I really started to enjoy practicing again. I brought the pad to my instructor he said he had never seen anything like it. He now uses it with his students, as stated in his testimonial. Give it a try!  I think you will be amazed how easy it is to use and how well it works for both acoustic and electric guitars.
